Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Waiting For Redraw

Level 22 - Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000
Players Remaining: 31 (Average: 1,000,000)

The tournament floor will redraw at 27 players, and we are getting close (as two people busted while this post was being entered).  Once the redraw happens we will post the players and their seating assignments.

Dennis Lisovsky

Dennis Lisovsky happened to be the players who sent home two players (as mentioned in earlier post).  With one player already all-in pre, Dennis flopped broadway on a A Q J board, and got all the chips in against his opponents A Q.  Dennis would chip up to just under 1,800,000 after winning that pot.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Final Break

Level 22 will be the last of the night once players take a (10) minute break.   They will return to blinds of 10,000/20,000/3,000.  It looks like we will end up with more players going into Day 3 then we ever have before (Big Stax).

Level 21 - Blinds 8,000/16,000/2,000
Players Remaining: 39 (Average: 830,000)

There are two more players we didn't mention earlier who are also no stranger to final tables during Big Stax series:

Bryan Hayes (Moorestown, NJ):

Big Stax I - Big Stax 300: 2nd Place ($51,289)

*Bryan lost heads up to eventual winner Jason Rivkin in our first Big Stax event ever.  Bryan is one of our chip leaders at the moment.

Dave Inselberg (New York, NY):

Dave Inselberg

Big Stax III - Big Stax 1000: 5th Place ($32,605)

*Inselberg was one of the eight players that chopped the most recent Big Stax main trophy event.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): 46th-54th ($1,230)

The following players have cashed for $1,230:

46. Eric Rappaport (Lansdale, PA)
47. Hua Wei (Edison, NJ)
48. Robert Reish (Lawrenceville, NJ)
49. David Levitch (Egg Harbor, NJ)
50. Carol Lugishi (Livingston, NJ)
51. Xinyu Zhao (Philadelphia, PA)
52. Stanislow Kushner (Brooklyn, NY)

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Finn-ished

Level 21 - Blinds 8,000/16,000/2,000
Players Remaining: 42 (Chip Average: 752,000)

Sean Wallace

On the hand prior to break, a crowd started to stand around Table 66.  There was an all-in pre between Sean Wallace (Horsham, PA) and John Finn (Bronx, NY):

Wallace: 9♠ 9♣            Finn: A K♣

Flop: A♣ J♠ 6♠

Turn: 4♣

River: 9♠

Wallace is now up to 2,200,000, and leads the 42 remaining players.  Finn finishes in 43rd and collects $1,445.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Break/The Play Is Deep

Level 21 is going to start after a (10) minute break, with blinds going up once again, this time to 8,000/16,000/2,000.  Chip average is close to 50 blinds, which is why this structure is so popular.  There will be two more levels played this evening before bagging, unless the final table is reached.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Making Deep Runs Again

Level 20 - Blinds 6,000/12,000/2,000
Players Remaining: 44 (Average: 735,000)

There are two players still remaining in the field who are not strangers to deep run in the Big Stax series:

Nicholas Partenope (Colonia, NJ):

Big Stax II - Big Stax 300: 5th Place ($10,955)
Big Stax III - Big Stax 300: 78th Place ($788)
Big Stax III - Big Stax 500: 53rd Place ($1,176)

Mike Dentale (Brooklyn, NY)

Big Stax II - Big Stax 1500: 1st Place ($101,800)

With the field sizes what they have been since the Big Stax series has started, these are no easy feats.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Leading The Way

Level 20 - Blinds 6,000/1,200/200 (Chip Average: 720,000)

With the blind:chip average ratio as it is right now, anyone over 1,000,000 would be in really good shape at the moment.  The are four players in the field that have separated themselves from the field:

Bryan Hayes (1,900,000)

Greg Weber (1,200,000)

Mike Cannon (1,200,000)

Sean Wallace (1,500,000)

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Back From Dinner

Players are about to take their seats back from dinner, posting blinds of 6,000/12,000/2,000.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Dinner Break

The final (10) minutes will tick off the clock, and players will then go on their (75) minute dinner break.  They will return to Level 20 and blinds of 6,000/12,000/2,000.

Today's play will be finished at the conclusion of Level 22 (or) once players have reached the final table.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Chip Leaders

Level 19 - Blinds 5,000/10,000/100 (Chip Average: 622,000)

Alexander Dubinchik - 1,400,000
Paul Marzarella - 1,300,000
Joseph McKeehen - 1,100,000
Paul Shedaker - 1,100,000

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Updated Chip Counts/Still Alive

Level 18 - Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000 (Chip Average: 462,000)

Play has slowed down now that the chip average is over 60 big blinds, and we have some updated chip counts from the field:

We have been notified that the fans of Mike Dentale (Brooklyn, NY) have been complaining about the lack of coverage for their favorite poker player (and quite possibly the most accomplished in the room). Mr. Dentale is still alive in this event, and sits with 750,000 at the moment (just less than 100 big blinds).

Mike has had an eventful day so far, getting into a verbal altercation with Foster Haynes, one of our chip leaders coming into Day 2.  For those who feel that the coverage on Mike has been lacking, you can always follow his Twitter account @mikeunbelievable.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): In The Money!!!

Level 17 - Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000 (Chip Average: 300,000)

Tournament director Dave Grubb has just made the announcement that the players are in the money, and everyone who walks out of the clubhouse room from here on out with be doing so with some cash.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Glantz Stone Bubbles

Level 17 - Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000 (Chip Average: 296,000)

Matt Glantz (Lafayette Hills, PA) just ran jacks into queens, and has been eliminated in 110th place (two from the money).  After the next players busts we will have reached the money, and will bring you all of the players who cash in the event.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Money Bubble Looming

Level 17 - Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000 (Chip Average: 290,000)

There are 111 players remaining at the moment, which means we are only two players away from the money.  It's gone quicker than many people have thought, but regardless of the speed, players are still trying to fade the next two eliminations.  The tournament directors have just announced for dealers to stop after this next hand, and the play will then go hand-for-hand.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Rocco Leads The Way

Michael Rocco (Stevenson Beach, CA)

Michael Rocco (Stevenson Beach, CA) leads the way at the moment, as the only player in the room above 1,000,000.  Rocco turned a set of sevens after Norman Michalek flopped top two, and needless to say all of the chips got in.  Michalek is down to about 90,000 and hoping to find himself in the money with some quality short stack play.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): First Break

Players are going to be going on their first (10) minute break of the day, and when they return to Level 17 the blinds will have gone up to 3,000/6,000/1,000 (chip average of 250,000).  As of right now 129 players will be going on break, putting up 19 eliminations from the money.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Wally's World

Level 16 - Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 (Chip Average: 240,000)

Sean Wallace (Horsham, PA)

Sean Wallace (Horsham, PA) came into the day with 345,000, and has already doubled that number, becoming one of the chip leaders early in Day 2.  Wallace has over 750,000 at the moment, and is looking for his first large score in a Big Stax event.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Who We've Lost

Level 16 - Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 (Chip Average: 240,000)

We have lost close to 30 players since the beginning of the day, some of which include:

Jason Rivkin
Mike Goldberg
Mike Azzarro
Bob Brady

There are currently 135 players remaining, and with 108 getting paid, things should begin to slow down as we get closer to the money.

Alexander Dubinchik (Holland, PA)
Started Day 2: 705,000
Mike Cannon (Harrisburg, PA)
Started Day 2: 584,000

Even though the levels have moved to (90) minutes, a steady stream of player have been seen leaving the clubhouse room over the first (15) minutes of this level.  A little less than half of the field came into the day with chip average, but the shorties are trying to make their stand.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Day 2 Action Begins At 12:00pm

There have been many players to walk through the doors of the poker room over the past three days, all trying to make sure they were coming back for today.  Day 2 of the Big Stax 300 begins at 12:00pm, and 172 players navigated their way to this point.  Our live updates will begin once the cards are in the air, with the action usually very quick to begin the day.
